I decided to update the watermark on my photos now that I’m using a new camera. In a way, this will help me determine the photos that I was shooting with the Nikon 5200D vs. the photos that I’m now taking with my Sony Alpha 7rii. Organization applies for photography as much as it does for other jobs. Photos and files can easily get cluttered as an artist’s portfolio grows, so anything that can help categorize and label those photos and files is a big help. While a watermark signature doesn’t seem like much, you’d be surprised how often a loose picture ends up in an unlabeled folder or random email, causing a bit of confusion as to source of the picture and technical details of the image. This is especially true when uploading or printing photos. A photographer must have all the information on a file in order to make sure an upload transmits successfully, or to ensure the proper resolution of a large print.
So this watermark update is more than just for aesthetic purposes.
