Following a Dream in 2017 – Day 68 of 100

I created several YouTube videos today testing the Sony Alpha 7RII camera. The videos aren’t as sophisticated as many of the review videos I’ve seen, but I must say that a simple video sure shows a lot more to the audience than just writing about it. The first video was shot on the beach. The second one was done in my backyard. I think I’ll take another trip to the beach again tomorrow to get a better shot (the coast was foggy today), and then I will go to the mountains.

Here is the first beach video: https://youtu.be/PihpdXqSklU

Following a Dream in 2017 – Day 57 of 100

I received my new camera today! I’m excited about using it because I know the pictures will come out beautifully as long as I’m using the right settings. I did a few test shots today and I discovered I’ll need to upgrade my software to handle the raw files. After researching this issue, I discovered it is a common problem when buying new gear because the file format is also new. Tomorrow I will experiment more with the Sony Alpha 7rii and see about the newest Lightroom release.

Following a Dream in 2017 – Day 48 of 100

I spent a good part of today debating on whether I should upgrade my camera to a Sony Alpha 7rii. I’ve had my eye on this camera for years now because it’s received great reviews from the best experts. Only one thing keeps me from getting it: the cost. It’s naturally very expensive when you consider the camera plus the lenses I will need in order to have the right gear to capture the best shots. But I think I’m finally going to bite the bullet soon and get it!

It’s time!
